The ‘Power_of_No’ is having an impact on New Zealand’s film industry. I remember being an extra in films like Xena Warrior Princess and Hercules as a young university student 25 or more years ago. Because of its good studios, beautiful landscapes, excellent crews, and postproduction work, Tamaki Makaurau is still a popular location for international film production. This industry, on the other hand, earns $1 billion per year and employs 8,500 people. It necessitates a government incentive, but it is a globally competitive game in which we cannot participate unless we pay. It is more than worth it because it attracts foreign investment and multiplies government spending several times over.
