Isolation now an advantage as virus-free New Zealand gives productions a reliable place to work.
Studio owner and veteran film tech executive Stephen Pryor is seeing double the amount of interest from international productions to film in New Zealand than before Covid-19.
Pryor is in the final stages of fitting out the country’s largest studio space, X3, 30 minutes south of Auckland’s city centre. The studio space, made up of four flexible stages can be combined into a mega-single-studio space, specifically designed for large scale “build the world” productions. The studio complex comprises more than 11,725sqm, making it the largest in New Zealand.
