Floating Rock Studio Unveils The Trailer For Its First IP, ‘Kyōryū

by cartooon brew — 27 september 2023

Kyōryū, Floating Rock studio’s first original IP, is set in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic Japan where dinosaurs created through genetic engineering have prevailed over humans.

Although these futuristic beasts are far more sophisticated than their prehistoric forebears, tribal fights break out among them because primitive instincts continue to dictate much of their behaviour.

The project was developed by Floating Rock animator, Benjamin Mulot. He has almost ten years of experience in the Hollywood film industry and is an expert in creature animation. He has worked on films including Jumanji, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Avatar: The Way of Water.

The concept was chosen from a pool of submissions while Floating Rock was creating its internal platform, Pitchfest, which invited the studio’s artists to craft their pitches with the assistance of more seasoned business people.

Mulot is thrilled that his idea has come to fruition, but he hopes that he is only the first in a long line of Floating Rock artist that get to enjoy that feeling.
