New Zealand’s film and television production incentives system will be renewed following a review of local and international incentives and post-production and visual effects schemes. The decision comes in the wake of Australia’s expansion of rebate programmes. The screen industry contributes over NZ$3.5 billion ($2.12 billion) to the New Zealand economy annually and employs over 13,900 people. Other initiatives that benefit from the system include hospitality, construction, and tourism.
