Netflix earned over a billion dollars from Australians last year, a figure which was disclosed for the very first time after deciding not to route revenue through a Dutch subsidiary. According to Netflix Australia’s accounts, the company made $1.06 billion in 2022, up from $30.7 million the previous year. The increase in reported revenue occurred as a result of a billing change by the company’s local subsidiary, which now describes itself as a “distributor of access” to Netflix Service.
