Worldwide piracy is up 21%

Data analytics company MUSO has released piracy figures for January to August 2022 tracking 141.7 billion visits to piracy sites, which represents an increase of 21.9% over the same period of 2021. 

When broken down by sector, TV represented the largest volume of piracy traffic, accounting for 46.6%, however film piracy has seen the biggest increase growing by 49.1% across the period. 

The US was the leader for visits to pirate sites, followed by Russia, India, China and France.
