Hollywood superstar Joseph Gordon-Levitt sprung a surprise visit to a Wellington cinema, then invited the locals along.

The Inception and 10 Things I Hate About You actor put a call-out on his Instagram Stories on Sunday morning, inviting Wellingtonians to attend the 5pm screening of the David Fincher drama Mank at The Roxy Cinema in Miramar.

Roxy staff took to Facebook after Gordon-Levitt’s message, posting, “Well, that sold out fast…”
