Gender diverse people in Palmerston North will finally have the opportunity to see their story on the big screen.

Rūrangi follows transgender activist Caz Davis as he heads home to an isolated and conservative dairy town where no-one has heard or seen from him since he transitioned.

Director Max Currie grew up in Palmerston North and went to Palmerston North Boys’ High School and Awatapu College, and said he wanted to share the story in his old stomping ground
